Design
A successful project must be based not only on sound architectural and engineering design but also on its ability to provide the right environment for its purpose. By focusing on an asset’s purpose, ensuring that we have a deep understanding of our customer's needs and have secured full stakeholder collaboration, we are able to create a functionally-led design that is specific to the operational and maintenance issues that the facility will face throughout its working life.
Design is not specific to a building’s inception; it also includes service modelling, space planning, life cycle upgrades and refurbishment. Our involvement in these environments is the only way truly to understand how military operations and facilities management impact on the building’s suitability.
Build
Interserve has a long track record in the construction of complex projects, delivered consistently on time and to budget, and often in a ‘live’ environment. We offer whole-life solutions from strategic and service planning advice, project consultancy and management, to design, construction and commissioning.
Our understanding of the military requirements of the Defence Estate ensures that we can manage the interface with the client to minimise disruption whilst delivering a high quality build.
Many of the abilities we need to manage new-build projects are equally applicable to refurbishment. We bring together and co-ordinate a range of skills to create or regenerate a valuable asset on behalf of our client. Refurbishing a building throughout its life forms part of its planned management. Through this service we are able to hand over facilities at the end of the tenure in a well-maintained condition.

Operate
Interserve plays an integral role in the operation of a diverse range of military environments. From managing ranges and training areas across the Defence Training Estate to providing packed lunches for ‘Thursday’s War’ (a weekly mock battle staged out at sea at HMS Drake in Devonport) and supporting teaching at Welbeck, the Defence Sixth Form College, our 5,000 plus employees blend seamlessly with military staff to ensure a flexible and responsive service.
