Interserve’s Area 12 Framework contract with the Highways Agency has encompassed innovative thoughts and actions, exceptional partnering skills and the ability to deliver on time and on budget, often under demanding conditions.

The company’s openness and commitment to constructive interaction has also ensured effective engagement with all parties.

Covering Yorkshire and Humberside, the contract has included works on the A180 Habrough to Stallingborough, the A628 Flouch to Summit Maintenance, M1 J34 Tinsley Viaduct Embedment, the A628 Highstone Lodge To Five Arches, the A63 Castle St Junction Improvements, the A628 at Tintwistle, M18 Junctions 6-7 Improvements, A63 Garrison Road Roundabout in Hull, A628 Salters Brook, A64 Scampston to Knapton and M62 and Addle Lane Bridge.

Achievements

A major contributor to the success of these projects is Interserve’s ability to forge constructive relationships with all stakeholders – not just clients and others members of the supply chain, but also the police and the public – ensuring minimum disruption to local communities and the highest levels of health and safety. For example, work patterns on key projects have been adjusted to suit the nature of adjacent properties, such as residential accommodation.

In parallel, Interserve’s Early Contractor Involvement has made a significant contribution to project schedules and costs through input at the design stage and the opportunity to proactively propose innovations. These include novel approaches to minimising traffic disruption and developing alternative piling methods to reduce cost and save time.
