Hamad Medical Centre, Qatar
Interserve’s formwork and falsework business, RMD Kwikform Middle East, is helping construct the world’s largest hospital complex in Doha, Qatar.
1,100 tonnes is being used to form 285,000 square meters of concrete slabs ranging from 285mm to 1,000 mm thick.
Capable of housing over 1,000 patients at any one time, the new $118million Hamad Medical City replaces the existing Hamad Hospital.
The new centre will supply free healthcare for all and become home to a world centre of excellence in Oncology. The development also includes apartment blocks to house nurses and other staff.
We produced over 300 drawings to ensure that the most cost effective and time efficient formwork and falsework solution were delivered to the client. Unlike most similar projects there was little duplication of pour areas – in fact for over 70 per cent of the project every pour area was different.
